'Sword of the Jedi' Novel Series on Hold

Recently, there has been much speculation about the future of the post-Return of the Jedi expanded universe - specifically Christie Golden's Sword of the Jedi trilogy.  The series, which would be set following Troy Denning's recent novel Crucible and the nine book Fate of the Jedi series, starred Jaina Solo, daughter of Han and Leia.  According to Golden, the series is on hold while the future of the current expanded universe is decided by the now famous Lucasfilm story groupGolden tweeted, "Sword of the Jedi is on hold until story group decides what the new continuity is going to be. As soon I know & can discuss, you will hear!"
I would speculate that the series will likely be cancelled, which, in a way, is a bit of a shame.  Christie Golden is very talented author (my favorite of the three that worked on Fate of the Jedi) and the series sounded like it would finally focus more on the next generation of characters.  However with new films on the horizon, one would think that much of the old canon will be over-written to ensure that the filmmakers have as much freedom as possible.  And, if you ask me, that is the way it should be when it comes to the new films, even if it means sacrificing old EU continuity.

I sure hope they will continue with it. Jaina's my favorite character and I've been hoping since the days of the YJK series that she would have a standalone series and was thrilled when this was announced. PLEASE, let it happen!!!

I hope the time gap means they are respecting some of the EU.
I can't imagine it'll all be chopped up but currently we are fearing the worst.

Having the kids of Leia and Luke be the new heroes would be a good story it would erase some of the books but i'd hope they choose this path at least some of the books can keep living along side the kids.

I wished she would have written the series. As far as I'm concerned the movie should been based on the books. Personally I thought the movie storyline was terrible, the writing horrible and was basically disappointed.
