J.J Abrams Thinks John Williams Will Score Episode VII

Since the announcement of Episode VII last year many big questions have been raised, one of them being whether legendary composer John Williams will return to score the music for the Star Wars Sequels. When J.J Abrams was announced to be the director of the film many speculated that Michael Giacchino, who has worked with Abrams on several films, might take the helm. But recently at a press conference for Star Trek Into Darkness J.J was asked about Giacchino's work for Star Trek and if he would be involved with Star Wars. Abrams replied:

"Michael Giacchino is an incredible composer, who I was lucky enough to begin working with on Alias. ... He's truly one of the most influential members of our crew, and I think this score, he really outdid himself. Again, for Star Wars, it's very early days, but I believe that, going forward, John Williams will be doing that film, because he was there long before I was."

The questions is asked at 07:00 in the video:

This is in no way a confirmation, but it is very reassuring to hear from a direct source like J.J Abrams. It really only makes sense that Williams would return to Star Wars. There are many great composers out there, but there's only one John Williams, and he IS the man.
