First off, we have the cover, which is stunning on its own and give us our first clear look at our heroes, along with several Starfighters in the background:

Next, we have more awesome imagery which reveals even more characters and ships. The right page gives us the names and descriptions of eight of the Rebel heroes. While the descriptions are difficult to read(from what I can tell, they don't reveal much), we were able to glean the characters names and match (some of) them to the actors that play them. And they are:

  • Jyn Erso (Felicity Jones)
  • Cassian Andor (Diego Luna)
  • Baze (Jiang Wen)
  • Enforcer Droid K-250 (Alan Tudyk)
  • Bodhi (Riz Ahmed)
  • Pao
  • Chirrut (Donnie Yen)
  • Bistan

The next page gives us a brand new look at the Imperial Hover Tank and Stormtroopers that we saw in the trailer:

Next up, we get a detailed schematic of the Death Star itself:

The following page gives us our first look at a brand new Starfighter: The TIE Striker:

A new Rebel Starfigher is also revealed! Our friends at Making Star Wars believes this fighter is called a "U-Wing":

On two other pages we get a look at what appears to be an AT-AT, but is actually called an "AT-ACT." Making Star Wars speculates that it could stand for "All-Terrain Armored Carrier Transport."

Another page appears to confirm that Ben Mendelsohn will be portraying Director Krennic, the Imperial character dressed in white with a cape we previously saw in the trailer. We also get a new look at the new "Death Troopers" as well:

We also get more detailed looks at the Enforcer Droid K-250:

And last, but certainly not least, we get some beautiful artwork featuring the heroes, villians, Starfighters and more surrounding the ominous helmet of Darth Vader. This is the first we've seen of Vader related to Rogue One, thus seemingly confirming previous speculation and rumors that the Dark Lord will making an appearance in this film:

Rumor: 'The Force Awakens' IMAX Details Revealed

By: Benjamin Hart

What's better than seeing Star Wars on the big screen? Seeing Star Wars on the biggest screen! The Force Awakens will be shown in IMAX theaters everywhere this December alongside standard theaters which will surely make for an amazing experience. We of course learned that at least one scene in the film will be shot with IMAX Cameras, and we saw evidence of this in the behind the scenes reel that was recently released at San Diego Comic Con.

Our friends at Making Star Wars have shared some interesting details about how The Force Awakens will be presented at IMAX theaters. Here's what they had to say:

"I was invited by my local IMAX theatre to help install “The Force Awakens” in the IMAX projector a week upon release and I was given the complete specs of the presentation. Here are the details for what one can expect from the “true’ IMAX experience of “Star Wars: The Force Awakens”.

The theaters that house a “true” eight story tall IMAX screen will present the film in actual 70MM film reel; presenting the 70MM shot scenes in its full screen glory.

There will be two 70MM prints running through the IMAX projector to have the film play in IMAX 3D; rest assured it’s not the gimmick post converted 3D. It’s what IMAX was founded on, showcasing the best and most immersive 3D ever.

The 70MM IMAX presentation will not play at the “gimmick” shrunk IMAX theaters. Those will showcase the standard Digital IMAX converted format.

Look below for the comparisons between standard widescreen shot to a 70MM IMAX frame."

They also confirmed that the sequence that is filmed in IMAX is indeed the Millennium Falcon being chased by TIE Fighters over Jakku, which we see in the trailers. Of course all of this should be considered rumors until otherwise confirmed by Lucasfilm. Nevertheless, those scenes will no doubt be amazing to see in all their gigantic glory when Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens hits IMAX theaters December 18th!

More 'The Force Awakens' Photos Leak, Domhnall Gleeson Character Revealed

By: Benjamin Hart

Today certainly has been a day for Episode VII leaks, hasn't it? Earlier we got our first looks at Greg Grunberg's character and two returning classic characters. Now Making Star Wars has revealed two very intriguing images from The Force Awakens showing an assortment of actors on set and in character. Of course, these could be considered very spoiler-y, so use caution as you read further. This is your official SPOILER WARNING:

The first photo is an awesome shot of several people and things that we've seen before, but not like this.  Here we have Rey(Daisy Ridley), Finn(John Boyega) and Han Solo(Harrison Ford) in the cockpit of the Millennium Falcon. A lot of can be taken from the character's expressions here; Finn seems mesmerized by whatever he sees in front of the Falcon, and Rey & Han appear to be having an awkward moment together:

The next one is even more significant. It finally confirms, at least partially, what Domhnall Gleeson's role will be in the film and also gives us a new look at Captain Phamsa(Gwendoline Christie). Gleeson is seen on the bridge of a First Order Star Destroyer alongside Phasma looking over a hologram of Finn. Making Star Wars claims that Gleeson's character is named "The General." Perhaps he's giving Phasma her orders to track down our runaway Stormtrooper hero?

You may recall we revealed sketches of both the cockpit scene and the bridge scene a couple months back. It's great to finally get a clear look at the characters. Special thanks to Making Star Wars sharing!

I know many grow weary of all the leaks from The Force Awakens, and I understand wanting to remain as spoiler free as possible for this film. But I love photos like this, they give fascinating new glimpses into the film without giving anything big away. It certainly helps make the almost six month wait to December 18th a bit more tolerable.

Rumor: 'The Force Awakens' Set Names, Nyong'o's Character Revealed

By Chris Seekell

Yesterday, Making Star Wars' Jason Ward published an article on his site revealing some set codenames he stumbled across from an environment titled "Pirate's Cove" that most likely is a fusion of the outdoor set from Greenham Common and indoor sets from Pinewood. Here are the codenames below according to Making Star Wars.

  • Sun Terrace
  • Rose’s Room
  • Walk-in freezer
  • Map Room
  • Passageway
  • “Dusty” Back Room
  • Pier (overlooks the ocean)
  • The Cliff Face

Ward also went on to describe some of these sets. One that particularly interested us was the one codenamed "Rose's Room".

An interesting thing about “Roses’s Room” is the stage needs to be raised “for puppetry requirements.” We may even know the puppet that is to be used but we can’t be very sure yet. Who is “Rose?” We’ve heard the name attributed as another code name for “Snow Girl,” “Kira,” and “Fawn.” In a piece we will discuss later, there is a gypsy styled puppet and the name rose might be a playful codename for “Gypsie Rose Lee,” a 1950’s burlesque dancer. The character is not attractive like Gypsie Rose Lee so its simply a word association, if accurate. It could mean “Kira” or it could be someone else entirely.

The SWU reached out to our sources, and one was able to confirm that the character codenamed "Rose" is in fact a puppet, that also will be brought to life with motion capture from actress Lupita Nyong'o. This fits with information we received last month suggesting Nyong'o was brought on board for motion capture.

While a lot has come out concerning the roles Ridley, Boyega, Isaac, and Driver will play in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Nyong'o's character has been a bit of a mystery. But it looks like that is starting to unravel as we draw ever closer to the one year mark before the film's release.

Rumor: 'The Force Awakens' Trailer Synopsis Revealed; Isaac To Play X-Wing Pilot

By Chris Seekell

Rumors have been swirling around the web today concerning the first Star Wars Episode VII teaser trailer that John Williams has allegedly finished scoring. First up, Devin Faraci at Badass Digest claims to have sources that have seen the trailer, and shared a brief description of what they saw.

"..it'll be short. And when I say short, I mean one minute long. It's going to have The Force Theme played on woodwinds, softly, over flashing images of the main leads, each fading to black. There's no dialogue, just reveals of the characters. And then the music swells up into a full orchestral piece - perhaps what John Williams recorded this weekend? - and we hear a female voice, likely Daisy Ridley's, saying "Wake up."And then the title card appears - Star Wars: The Force Awakens - and we see the Millennium Falcon, firing blasters, coming right at the camera. "

Next, Jason Ward from Making Star Wars posted a more detailed description of the trailer per information from one of his sources.

  • Fade in from black, shots of the dunes, Boyega pops in to the shot from below. He’s wearing white Stormtrooper armor but he doesn’t have a helmet on.
  • In the teaser we only see Boyega and Ridley really.
  • Ridley boards a speeder.
  • She has a helmet on like Endor Leia, a design with pop-down goggles.
  • A shot of Ridley’s speeder approaching the station (the TMZ set we saw).
  • We see the new Stormtroopers on a transport. The flight is turbulent.
  • New X-wings.
  • TIE Fighters.
  • The new ball droid that’s a gyroscope and belongs to “Kira.”
  • The new “Sith” is also revealed. He has a cross-beam lightsaber and the beam is a bit wilder and more super-charged than your normal lightsaber.
  • The Falcon.

We reached out to our sources as well, and everything Jason's source told him is accurate. However, we cannot confirm that the line "Wake up" was said in the trailer.

Our sources also added a few additional tidbits that will be revealed in the trailer. Firstly Oscar Isaac will appear in the trailer piloting an X-Wing fighter. Additionally, the Sith character will be revealed on a snowy forest planet. This information is significant, because it lends credence to a rumored scene first described on the Jedi Council Forums a few months ago.

"That will be John Boyega's job as he has a little light saber duel with Driver... I've seen the scene and wasn't sure whether [Ridley] was killed or not. She also gets captured by Driver. Boyega and Daisy arrive in a forest with snow falling, that's where the fight takes place. Don't know any [character] names, I've just seen the footage. Boyega with blue lightsaber and Driver with red. Just those 3 characters. Driver dressed in all black, sith costume. I'm only going off by what I've seen. Light saber was a standard one but with a cross light like on the handle for Drivers. Daisy on the floor, Boyega and Driver fighting. Driver does something with his hands and Boyega runs over to Dasiy already on the floor. A good comparison would be that [Driver] looked like Snape from Harry Potter."

So far, everything we have heard from trailer rumors and concept art leaks have supported the accuracy of this scene description.

It looks like The Force Awakens teaser trailer is finally at or very near completion, and a release is imminent. We are speculating sometime between the November 21st Hunger Games premiere and Christmas Day.
