New Video Introducing "The Aces" of 'Star Wars Resistance' Released

Lucasfilm has released a new video on USA Today's website introducing fans to some of the new characters we'll be going on adventures with on the animated series Star Wars Resistance, which debuts this Fall on Disney XD.  The video presents a group of pilots known collectively as "The Aces", who are the top pilots on The Colossus.  They were hired to defend The Colossus, but in their down time they stage ship races among themselves.  "The Aces" are made up of Torra Doza (Myrna Velasco), Hype Fazon (Donald Faison), Griff Halloran (Stephen Stanton), Freya Fenris (Mary Elizabeth McGlynn), and Bo Keevil (whose voice actor was not revealed).  Check out the video for yourself below,

Stephen Stanton to Voice Obi-Wan Kenobi on 'Star Wars Rebels'

When the new mid season trailer for Season Three of Star Wars Rebels was released earlier today, the moment that had everybody talking was the final shots of the trailer featuring Darth Maul confronting Obi-Wan Kenobi on Tatooine.  Not only did we see a preview for the latest round of Maul v. Kenobi, which begun in The Phantom Menace and continued through Star Wars: The Clone Wars, but we also got our first look at an animated version of Alec Guiness' Old Ben.  But the question was raised, who will be voicing Kenobi?

Stephen Stanton Talks Voicing Rogue One's Admiral Raddus

With every new Star Wars film comes loads of new characters that become instantly icon and beloved. Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is now in theaters, and one of it's breakout characters is Mon Calamari Rebel leader Admiral Raddus. The short, grey alien is voiced by veteran voice actor(and good friend of the SWU) Stephen Stanton. Business Insider recently caught up with Stephen who spoke about the audition process and his character's important role in Rogue One.

Two Previews for 'Call to Action' Featuring Tarkin

Word got out yesterday that Grand Moff Tarkin would be appearing in the Star Wars Rebels episode "Call to Action."  Reprising the role of Tarkin is The Clone Wars alum and fan favorite Stephen Stanton who played the younger version of the character in several episodes in the old series.  Entertainment Weekly has now released two clips from "Call to Action" featuring Tarkin.

Tarkin Confirmed for Star Wars Rebels Episode 'Call to Action'

After having his name dropped several times in the premiere of Star Wars Rebels back in October, Grand Moff Wilhuff Tarkin will be making his first appearance on the series next week.  The episode "Call to Action" premieres on Disney XD next Monday February 9th, but was made available this morning to subscribers on the Watch Disney XD app.  The blog FanofStarWars first broke the news this morning.

The episode will see voice actor Stephen Stanton reprise the role after playing the character on several occasions in Star Wars: The Clone Wars.  The character first appeared in A New Hope back in 1977 and was played by the legendary actor Peter Cushing.  The episode description reads, "As public awareness increases around the Rebels activity, they target an important Imperial network."  How Tarkin fits into this is still unclear, but you can bet he's not to happy about what the crew of The Ghost have been up to for the past several episodes.

'Star Wars: Tarkin' Audio Excerpt Read by Stephen Stanton

Nerdist has released a brand new audio excerpt from the recently released novel Star Wars: Tarkin read by Star Wars: The Clone Wars voice actor and friend of The SWU Stephen Stanton!  It was also produced by another friend of ours, Jimmy Mac from RebelForce Radio!  Stanton portrayed Tarkin in several episodes of The Clone Wars.  The novel is written by James Luceno and available now.  Check out the excerpt below,

It's great to hear Stephen reprizing his role from The Clone Wars.  I love that they're continuing this trend of having Star Wars voice talent read excerpts from the novel and hope they continue it as we move forward with the novels.  This has previously been done for the "Legends" novels: Kenobi (James Arnold Taylor), Razor's Edge (Cathering Taber), Maul: Lockdown (Sam Witwer), and Honor Among Thieves (David Collins), as well as the canon novel A New Dawn (Vanessa Marshall).
