By: Benjamin Hart

While Star Wars: The Last Jedi has been very successful at the box office having earned over $1 billion and becoming the highest grossing film of 2017. But that didn't change the fact that the film has attracted more than it's fair share of critics since it's release in December. And as to be expected, many Star Wars fans have been extremely vocal about their gripes with Episode VIII, sometimes engaging the creators behind the film on social media.

By Ciaran Duggan,

Three days ago Candace Payne uploaded a Facebook video which immediately captured the world's imagination. Mrs. Payne is shown wearing a "talking" Chewbacca mask and laughs in a hysterical manner throughout the video.

According to Entertainment Weekly, this video has quickly become the most-watched Facebook Live video of all timewith over 117 million views. Take a look at this video down below:

It's hard not to see why one cannot smile at the reaction of Mrs. Payne. Since the video has gone viral, Mrs. Payne had this to say to her Facebook followers:

"Today has been a whirlwind. I'm grateful for every kind of word and comment even if I haven't replied. Y'all. OVERWHELMED with gratitude. Let's keep belly laughing again. Never imagined finding my 'simple joy' would land me more VIEWS on a little FB video than Mark Zuckerberg has followers. INSANE. Find your 'simple you'! Good Day. Now Good Night. It's all love."

Since Payne's statement on Friday, the Chewbacca mask product has been purchased by consumers on a grand scale. EW states that:

- Major retailers have run out of stock of the product
- Amazon are asking for c. $200 per item of the stock they have left.

By Ciaran Duggan,

Today has been a bit of a slow news day, in light of the release of the Rogue One: A Star Wars Story trailer a week ago. In spite of this, we felt it would be right to shine light on a inventive depiction of the Rogue One Rebels Cast. A Lego version of the Rogue One Cast has circulated the internet, following this Facebook post:

Seeing this image in all its glory, could also hint at the possibility of the creation of a Rogue One Lego video game. It's definitely something we would all love to transpire.

Rogue One Smashes It At The Twitter Trailer Box Office

 By Ciaran Duggan

This past week has been an extraordinary success for the world of trailers, particularly on the Twittersphere.

The buzz on Twitter was ever present, as new trailers were released for the DC Comics mammoth villain-centric movie, Suicide Squad and the magical return of the beloved Harry Potter Franchise, with J.K. Rowling’s new film, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. In amongst all that, it was the new Rogue One trailer which has got film fans giddy. Measured on Retweets, likes and other measures of interaction, the trailer ranked at No. 2 of the year on Twitter, falling just short of Captain America: Civil War (which had a month head start as well).
However, for this week alone Star Wars has managed to knock it out of the park, as it eclipsed the Harry Potter prequel and much anticipated DC villains’ movie, by claiming the No. 1 spot for Twitter retweets, likes and other forms of interaction.

Disney and Lucasfilm will be overjoyed by this response, but perhaps this shouldn’t be so shocking. After all, The Force Awakens third trailer managed to receive over 100 million views in the space of 24 hours and marked a new record for the most views of a trailer in 24 hours. It seems Rogue One is stepping up to the mark.
