Watch The "Dedication Moment" For The 'Rise of the Resistance' Ride At Disney World

By: Dominic Jones

Anyone whose been to a Galaxy's Edge park, either in California or Florida, will tell you it's an incredible experience.  It really is.  However, it's clear that the fact the Rise of the Resistance ride wasn't ready to open when the parks did earlier this year left a bit of a whole in the park.  Luckily, the ride is set to open, at long last, tomorrow in Disney World in Florida (sadly, however, it still won't open until January 17th in California).

James Arnold Taylor, the voice of Obi-Wan Kenobi in Star Wars: The Clone Wars, was born on this day in 1969.

The 48-year-old voice actor is the only actor (voice or otherwise) to have portrayed Obi-Wan Kenobi more than four times in various Star Wars media.

He has even been considered an official "audio double" for Ewan McGregor, who played the Jedi Master in the Prequel Trilogy.

By Ciaran Duggan,

The fourth weekend of Star Wars Weekends commenced at Disney's Hollywood Studios on this day back in 2015.

In the same year that Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens hit cinemas and Star Wars Celebration returned to California,  Star Wars weekends remained one of Lucasfilm's biggest events of that year.

Star Wars Weekends IV featured special guest appearances from Ray Park, who played Darth Maul in Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace, and the man who donned the iconic Boba Fett outfit, Jeremy Bulloch.

Ashley Eckstein, who voiced Ahsoka Tano in Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Star Wars: Rebels, also made an appearance as a guest from June 5 - 7.

Report: Ewan McGregor Recorded New Dialogue For 'The Force Awakens'

By: Dominic Jones

Warning: This Story Contains Spoilers from Star Wars: The Force Awakens.  If you haven't seen the film yet, stop reading now!

Star Wars: The Force Awakens featured many returns of actors to their iconic roles from previous Star Wars films.  But there's one actor who's return you may not have noticed.  Apparently Ewan McGregor recorded some new Obi-Wan Kenobi dialogue for the Force vision/flashback that Rey experienced in Maz Kanata's castle.

This information comes by way of James Arnold Taylor, who voiced Obi-Wan on Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Star Wars Rebels, who says that he originally recorded that dialogue but was then replaced by Ewan.

Did you catch the new Obi-Wan dialogue?  And does this maybe open the door to more Ewan McGregor as Obi-Wan stories (Anthology film or Force ghost in Episode VIII)?  Let us know what you think in the comments!

Mark Hamill Discusses 'The Force Awakens' At Celebration Anaheim

By: Benjamin Hart

Last week was an amazing one for Star Wars fans as Star Wars Celebration came to Anaheim, California with a seemingly endless amount of reveals from the past, present and future of the Star Wars Saga. One of the anticipated panels of the event featured two fan favorites discussing just that. "Mark Hamill: The Return Of The Jedi" featured James Arnold Taylor interviewing Luke Skywalker himself on the Celebration stage. Their conversation covered everything from set stories from The Empire Strikes Back to Hamill's recent appear on The Flash TV series. But by far the most interesting things said during the panel were about Star Wars Episode VII.

First off, Mark had a lot of great things to say about his new co-stars, Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Adam Driver and others. "People said, 'well, did they ask you for advice?' and I said, 'are you kidding? I should ask them for advice." And when asked if he had seen the new trailer for The Force Awakens prior to it's premiere Thursday morning, Hamill revealed that he had indeed watched it a week earlier when he went to Bad Robot studios to record the now infamous voice over heard in the trailer. Hamill went on to confirm that even though the lines in the trailer were pulled from Return Of The Jedi, he had re-recorded those same lines which J.J. Abrams & crew had combined to create a reverberation of Luke's voice in the trailer.

Later, Taylor questioned Hamill about how he was first approached to return to Star Wars. Hamill proceeded to tell a story about  himself, his wife and Carrie Fisher being asked out to lunch by George Lucas while at at a previous Star Wars event. Hamill admittedly laughed at the idea of a new trilogy including himself, He soon learned of Lucas' plans, but didn't give a yes or no, adding he was in a state of shock. "What's really interesting is later I thought: It's not like a choice, it was like I was drafted. Can you imagine if for some reason I said, 'I don't think I want to do it.' I would have all of you[pointing to the audience] surrounding my house like... angry villagers with Lightsabers instead of torches."

And on J.J, Abrams, Hamill joked that he was suspicious of "that Star Trek guy", but had high praise for the filmaker. Hamill noted that The Force Awakens is the first Star Wars film to be in the hands of someone who grew up in Star Wars fandom and adds that Abrams shares the same thoughts and feeling that many Star Wars fan have.

It's always great to hear from Mark, and it's especially refreshing to hear him speak about The Force Awakens more candidly than normal. Thanks to James Arnold Taylor and crew for putting on such a great show at Celebration Anaheim!

Star Wars Celebration: Smuggler's Bounty

By Ciaran Duggan
Star Wars Celebration Anaheim will bear witness to the debut of the highly anticipated audio dramatic triumph known as Star Wars: Smuggler's Bounty. Best known for directing the successful film about Star Wars fans Fanboys, Kyle Newman will retake his seat in the director’s chair for this audio drama, which will be performed live at Star Wars Celebration.

The premise of the show will revolve around Han Solo during the time period of the Original Trilogy. The audio performance will incorporate hosts from all three of the Celebration stages, namely David Collins (Digital Stage) who will star as Han Solo in the play, James Arnold Taylor (Celebration Stage) who will also be lending his voice to the show, and Jimmy Mac (co-host Behind-The Scenes stage) who will be producing the the play live.  The play was co-written by filmmaker F.J. DeSanto.

The exclusive showcase of this audio phenomenon will be met with thunderous cheers. The predecessor titled Star Wars: Smugglers Gambit was a splendid accomplishment. This new drama will incorporate a group of star-studded voice actors and actresses (which also includes Clone Wars veterans, Sam Witwer and Jamie King), the show will also capture the imagination through the integration of magnificent special effects and sound design. You will surely not want to miss out on this treat.

David Collins Launches YouTube Show "The Comlink"

By: Benjamin Hart

A new Star Wars centric YouTube show has hit the web and it's produced by some familiar faces! "The Comlink" is hosted by David Collins, who has a long history with the Star Wars Saga. Most will know him as a sound designer on many Star Wars video games and most notably as the voice of PROXY in The Force Unleashed game series. David is joined by Producer/Director J.C. Reifenberg and Producer Ruark Dreher, whom you might know as the creators behind the 2011 fanfilm Hughes The Force. The first episode, which is nearly 10 minutes long ,was launched today on Kevin Smith's Seesmod YouTube channel and features a rundown of some of the latest Star Wars news and a great interview with James Arnold Taylor. Collins and Taylor discuss the recently released Star Wars: Clone Wars story reel episodes and Obi-Wan's cameo in Star Wars Rebels: Spark Of Rebellion, whom James voices. Also be sure to check out the over half-hour long extended interview with JAT linked at the end of the video.

So without further ado, check out episode one of The Comlink below:

Considering that there really isn't a lot of high quality Star Wars focused programs on YouTube, this show is certainly welcomed. Best of luck to David and his crew this new show!

Video: The Most Interesting Jedi in the Galaxy

By: Dominic Jones

Star Wars voice actor extraordinaire James Arnold Taylor (obi-Wan Kenobi on Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Star Wars Rebels) has released a new video on his YouTube channel, titled "The Most Interesting Jedi in the Galaxy".  The video was produced for Star Wars Weekend but ultimately never got used.    It parodies the famous Dos Equis marketing campaign, "The Most Interesting Man in the World", and features Tom Kane reprising his role as Yoda from Star Wars: The Clone Wars (as well as many other Star Wars projects).

Check it out below,

Stay rebellious, my friends.

Rumor: New 'Rebels' Details Revealed

By: Benjamin Hart

Our friends over at Making Star Wars have received some very interesting information about the upcoming animated series Star Wars Rebels. While not earth-shattering, these details give us more insight into the plot and characters and even align with some previous rumors we've heard.

Warning: possible minor spoilers ahead!

  • Ezra was born in the first year of the Empire.
  • Ezra lives in a radio tower and collects stormtrooper helmets
  • Sabine has a way of making her explosions look beautiful.
  • A Devaronian named Vizago is an underground dealer/crime lord on Lothal.
  • Kanan is in possession of a holocron.
  • Kessel Spice mines will appear
  • Lots of Wookiees.
  • Obi-Wan does appear in the pilot, but only as a holographic recording.

TheForce.net also released a report that backs up Making Star Wars saying that not only will Obi-Wan appear in the pilot, but he will be voiced by James Arnold Taylor.

Obviously some of this we may have heard before, or simply assumed it after watching the trailers. But this does give more depth to Rebels, and makes the anticipation for it's premiere all the more stronger. It'll be nice to have a Clone Wars alumni like James Arnold Taylor appear on the show so soon. And featuring long talked about locations like Kessel and classic aliens like Wookiees will give it good Star Wars feel to it. I can't wait!
