Maybe you've been to Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge and are hungry to bring part of the experience home. Or maybe you haven't been yet and are looking for a taste of life in Black Spire.  Either way, you might be interested in checking out the upcoming official Galaxy's Edge cookbook, being released by Disney and Insight Editions on November 5th.  The book, which is titled Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge — The Official Black Spire Outpost Cookbook, will feature recipes for dishes that are inspired by the food available at the park (which, like the park itself, is presented as "in-universe" food from the Star Wars galaxy).

If Star Wars Episode VIII shooting at Pinewood Studios right now and Star Wars Celebration coming in July weren't already enough to make London the epicenter of Star Wars this year, this announcement just might.  Barrel & Forks announced today that they would be opening a Star Wars themed Pop-up restaurant for eight days in June.  The location of the pop-up restaurant, which is name "The Fork Awakens" (groan), will remain a secret until two days before it opens and prospective diners must sign-up in advance to have a meal there.

"The Fork Awakens" will be open from June 22nd.  The restaurant is described as,

A long time ago in a galaxy far far away…

It is a period of culinary abundance: rebel spies have managed to steal secret recipes to the empire's canteen and Aunt Beru, and take them to the Death star, an armored space station with enough power to destroy an entire planet.

Set in Darth Vader’s kingdom, the fork awakens will take Foodtroopers into an immersive journey through time and space, with many familiar encounters and interactive adventures along the way.

Get your Jedi lightsaber drink in the canteen, tuck in some pretty amazing Hutt dogs and special spacefood, meet galactic explorers and interact with the rebels. Beware that the canteen has “strong drinks, hot tunes, and occasional outbreaks of shocking violence.”

Register online, and you will be given a unique id as member of the fork alliance. You will then receive the ID home one month before the event so this will give you access to the galaxy culinary adventure. Address to the venue will be disclosed only 48 hours before the event takes place: you will get an email with directions.

May the food force be with you.

ticket includes: welcome cocktail, 4 course interactive meal, set design and entertainment

They also tweeted the menu,

Learn To Make Rey's Portion Bread From 'The Force Awakens'

While fast paced and heavy on action, Star Wars: The Force Awakens did not forget to stop in the right places to allow the audience to slow down and soak in the universe. One of the more intruging scenes near the start of the film illustrates Rey's solitary life as she cooks a meal for herself inside her downed AT-AT home. One of the portions Rey recives is filled with powder which she pours into a container of water, and within seconds it rises into piece of bread.

If you were wondering how to make some portion bread yourself, and weren't interested in scavenging parts out of a crashed Star Destroyer, you're in luck! StarWars.com has revealed the recipe for Rey's Portion Bread. You can check it out below:

Rey’s Portion Bread

Ingredients:
1/2 teaspoon vegetable oil
4 tablespoons cake flour
1-1/2 tablespoons sugar
1/2 teaspoon matcha powder
1/4 teaspoon baking powder
pinch of salt
2 tablespoons whole milk
1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract

Directions:
1. Place the oil in a mug and swirl around to grease the inside.
2. Add the cake flour, sugar, matcha powder, baking powder and salt into the mug, stirring together.
3. Pour in the milk and vanilla, then cook in the microwave on high for 45 seconds.
4. Let cool slightly and serve.

Bon appétit!
