Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is a film that's seemingly been on everyone's minds recently, despite us quickly approaching the second anniversary of its release. We recently learned that one of the main characters of Rogue One, Cassian Andor, will be starring in his own TV series on Disney+. One of the most exciting aspects of this new series is that Diego Luna, who portrayed Andor in Rogue One, will be returning to reprise the role.

Eight New 'Forces of Destiny' Episodes Released

The latest series of episodes in the animated mico-series Star Wars: Forces of Destiny were released online on the official Disney YouTube channel today.  The episodes feature characters from across all Star Wars time periods, including Padme Amidala, Ahsoka Tano, Sabine Wren, Hera Syndulla, Jyn Erso, Luke Skywalker, Leia Organa, Maz Kanata, Rose Tico, and Rey.  They also feature many of the characters' original actors reprising their roles for the series, including Daisy Ridley, Kelly Marie Tran, John Boyega, Ashley Eckstein, Tiya Sircar, Lupita Nyong'o, and Mark Hamill.  You can see all eight episodes below,

Forces of Destiny: Accidental Allies

Lucasfilm and Disney have released the latest episode in the animated micro-series Star Wars: Forces of Destiny.  The episode, which is titled "Accidental Allies," unites characters from the animated series Star Wars Rebels and the film Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, both set in approximately the same era.  The episode stars Felicity Jones as Jyn Erso alongside Tiya Sircar as Sabine Wren and Vanessa Marshall as Hera Syndulla.  You can check it out below,

Felicity Jones to Appear at New York Comic Con

ReedPOP, the organizers behind the annual New York Comic Con event taking place this October 5th-8th at the Javits Center in Manhattan, announced today that Rogue One: A Star Wars Story star Felicity Jones will appearing at this year's event.  Jones portrayed the Rebel operative Jyn Erso, who stole the plans to the first Death Star and transmitted them to Princess Leia in the film, and will be appearing on Friday only at NYCC to sign autographs for fans.

Forces of Destiny: The Stranger

Lucasfilm and Disney have released the seventh episode of the new animated micro series Star Wars: Forces of Destiny.  The series shines the spotlight on the heroines of the Star Wars galaxy, with each 2-3 minute episode shining the spotlight on a different female hero.  The seventh episode, titled "The Stranger," features Jyn Erso taking on some Imperial stormtroopers.  "The Stranger" stars Felicity Jones as Jyn Erso, and also features an introductory voice over from Lupita Nyong'o as Maz Kanata.  Check out the episode below,

BREAKING: New Animated Series 'Forces of Destiny' Announced

With just hours to go before Star Wars Celebration kicks off in Orlando, Lucasfim has announced a brand series of animated series focusing on the heroines of Star Wars! The series is titled Star Wars: Forces of Destiny and will debut on the Disney YouTube channel this July.  The series will cover multiple eras of Star Wars and will feature Daisy Ridley, Lupita Nyong'o, and Felicity Jones reprising their roles as Rey, Maz Kanata and Jyn Erso in the series.  Also reprising their roles on the series are Star Wars animation veterans Ashley Eckstein as Ahsoka Tano, Matt Lanter as Anakin Skywalker, Tiya Sircar as Sabine Wren, and Vanessa Marhsall as Hera Syndulla. 'Rogue One' Nominated for Two MTV Movie Awards

MTV announced the nominees for the 2017 MTV Movie Awards and Star Wars was well represented among the nominees.  Not only did Rogue One: A Star Wars Story pick up two nominations but some other members of the Star Wars picked up a few more nominations.  Rogue One was nominated for Best Picture and Felicity Jones was nominated for Best Hero for her role as Jyn Erso.  Another Rogue One actor, Riz Ahmed (Bodhi Rook) was nominated in the Next Generation category (not for any specific role).  In addition, stars of the upcoming Han Solo movie, Emilia Clarke and Donald Glover (who will be playing young Lando in the film) will be facing off in the Best Actor in a Show for their roles on Game of Thrones and Atlanta, respectively.

'Rogue One' Wins Big At 2017 Three Empire Awards

While Rogue One: A Star Wars Story did not end up scoring an award at the Oscars a few weeks back, awards season is far from over, and the film just received one its highest honors yet!

The Three Empire Awards were held recently and Rogue One picked up an assortment of nominations going into the ceremony, including Best Sci-Fi/Fantasy, Best Costume Design, Best Make-Up And Hairstyling, Best Visual Effects, and Best Production Design. Riz Ahmed was also nominated for Best Male Newcomer for his role as Bodhi Rook.

'Star Wars' Nominated for Twelve Saturn Awards

The Force is strong with Rogue One: A Star Wars Story and Star Wars Rebels at this year's Saturn Awards.  The Star Wars franchise was nominated for twelve awards at the Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy, and Horror annual Saturn Awards, which will be handed out on June 28th at a ceremony in Burbank, California.  Rogue One led all films this year with nominations for eleven awards including Best Science Fiction Film, Best Director, and Best Actress.  Check out the complete list of categories Star Wars was nominated in below,

Video: Felicity Jones 'Saturday Night Live' Monologue

Last night, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story star Felicity Jones hosted NBC's Saturday Night Live.  While there were no Star Wars sketches starring Jones, along the lines of last year's "Undercover Boss: Starkiller Base" starring Adam Driver as Kylo Ren, there were several Star Wars references in her opening monologue.  This included SNL cast member Kenan Thompson as Saw Gerrera and Tina Fey as a hologram.  Check it out below,

Diego Luna Thanks 'Rogue One' Fans At Golden Globes

The 2017 Golden Globe Awards took place last night at the Beverly Hilton in Hollywood and a plethora of celebrities made appearances, including a few Rogue One: A Star Wars Story stars. Diego Luna, Felicity Jones and Riz Ahmed, who had been nominated for for an award for his role in "The Night Of", were in attendance at the event. During the ceremony, Jones and Luna also took the stage to present the award for best screenplay.
