Fan Artists Collaborate On Amazing 'Star Wars Rebels' Season Four Artwork

The fourth and final season of Star Wars Rebels is upon us! "Heroes Of Mandalore", the hour-long season premiere, aired on Disney XD earlier this week, starting off the final set of episodes that will wrap up the hit animated series' story. StarWars.com Launches 'Rebels' Fan Art Contest

While we're still basking in the afterglow of the Star Wars Rebels Summer movie event "The Siege of Lothal," and eagerly awaiting the return of the series this fall, StarWars.com has a fun event for all the fan artists out there.  Lucasfilm announced the "Star Wars Rebels Season Two Fan Art Contest" today,  encouraging fans to submit their interpretations of the characters from Star Wars Rebels.  There will be three winners, one grand prize winner who will receive $200 US at Dark Ink, and two runner up winners who will receive $100 US at Dark Ink each.

The contest runs until August 31st and is open to fans in the US and Canada.  Submissions must remain PG and cannot contain anything from outside the Star Wars universe (brands, characters, etc.).  

Here is the official description of the contest from StarWars.com,
The Ghost crew. Ahsoka Tano. Darth Vader. Star Wars Rebels has changed a galaxy far, far away forever, and StarWars.com is celebrating the upcoming second season of the hit animated series with a new contest: We want you to channel your inner Sabine and create the best Star Wars Rebels art you can!

In the official Star Wars Rebels Season Two Fan Art Contest, you can creatively express your love of the heroes, villains, and creatures of the show — and enter for the chance to win cool prizes that would make Vizago jealous. Submit your entries from July 1 – August 31, 2015.

We’d wish you luck, but in our experience, there’s no such thing as luck.

May the 4th: Lucasfilm Star Wars Art Show

Lucasfilm has announced cool plans for an art show happening this weekend in Los Angeles, California.  The art show will features artists from across the Disney empire, including Lucasfilm, ILM, Marvel, and Pixar, providing their own unique take on a Stormtrooper helmet.  Each artist was provided with a blank helmet (pictured above) and will present their own design on the helmet.  The show is presented by Lucasfilm and Neff.  Neff CEO Shaun Neff told StarWars.com,

"As a lifelong Star Wars fan, it's been a dream of mine to collaborate with Lucasfilm.  Teaming up with some of the most prominent street artists from around the world, we are thrilled to work alongside The Walt Disney Company -- to reimagine such an iconic piece of cinematic history as the Stormtrooper." 

The show takes place at the Robert Vargas Gallery, located at 620 Main Street Los Angeles, CA 90013.   The show runs from May 2nd - 4th and hours are:

Friday, May 2: 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
Saturday, May 3: 2:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.
Sunday, May 4: Noon - 4:00 p.m.

Star Wars Celebration Europe II Artists Announced

Chalk Artist Eric Maruscak Coming To Celebration VI

Eric Maruscak, a chalk artist renowned for his work work at many different events will be at the Orange county convention center this this Summer, hard at work on another amazing chalk drawing during Celebration VI. He will begin creating his masterpiece on Thursday, August 23rd in the Celebration experience exhibit hall and continue through Sunday afternoon. CVI attendees will be able to view his progress throughout the four day period. Star Wars fans may remember Eric from Celebration V where he created a fourteen foot tall and nine foot wide mural that revealed Savage Opress for the first time. Could we anticipate another character revealed through his art work this year? Time will tell.
