'Star Wars Rebels' Season Two Finale Celebrates Ratings Triumph

By Ciaran Duggan,

The TV show may have been hit and miss over the course of its broadcast, but the second season of Star Wars: Rebels has ended on a high note. The hour-long season two finale of Rebels soared to success in the ratings.

The Season Two finale reached an all time high in viewership numbers, for 2016. Variety have backed this assessment with some compelling statistics. These statistics definitely make for good reading, from the perspective of the behind-the-scenes team at Disney and LucasFilm.

Total Viewership Numbers:
-> 1.2 million viewers (an all time high for the show in more than a year)

On Digital Platforms
-> 3.2 million viewers on the Disney XD App
-> Over 8.8 million VOD orders over the course of the season

TV Ratings:
-> Ranked as No. 1 cable TV telecast in the hour among the age demographic of boys 6-14.
-> A solid No. 2 in kids 6-11 across the target demographic.

Whilst the episode was disjointed in nature, epitomising the season on a more general level, the season two finale was breath-taking and a compelling watch. Its is without doubt that the promoted return of characters like Darth Maul, Darth Vader and Ahsoka made the hour-long finale a must-see for regular Rebels' viewers.

'Lego Star Wars: The Freemaker Adventures' TV Series Coming This Summer

By: Dominic Jones

Lucasfilm has announced a new animated Lego Star Wars TV series coming to Disney XD in the US and Canada this summer.  Lego Star Wars: The Freemaker Adventures is set between The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi and features new characters to the Star Wars galaxy alongside some fan favorites.  The series, like all its Lego Star Wars predecessors, is a family friendly action adventure comedy.
According to StarWars.com,
Told in the whimsically-charged style that audiences have come to expect from LEGO Star Wars entertainment, the series stars the Freemakers, a family of scavengers who build and sell starships from the scoured debris of space battles strewn throughout the galaxy. When their youngest discovers a natural connection with the Force through an ancient artifact — the Kyber Saber — his world is turned upside down, and he and his family are thrown into an epic struggle against the Empire to restore peace and freedom to the galaxy. Throughout their adventures, the Freemakers explore new worlds, meet new and familiar characters, and learn the true value of what it means to be a family.

“We are very excited to launch for the first time a TV series with Disney XD,” said Jill Wilfert, vice president, licensing & entertainment at the LEGO Group. “The creative team behind The Freemaker Adventures is extremely talented, and the series is a great testament to our longstanding and successful partnership with Lucasfilm and Disney. The show masterfully combines the rich heritage of storytelling, great characters, action, and adventure in a galaxy far, far away with the creativity, imagination, and humor that only LEGO Star Wars can deliver. We are sure fans young and old are going to love the show.”

“With The Freemaker Adventures we are thrilled to bring all-new stories to life that could only be realized in the LEGO Star Wars universe,” said Carrie Beck, vice president, animation development at Lucasfilm. “We are embarking on an unprecedented collaboration that will allow us to extend the narrative experience of the Star Wars saga with the same playful spirit that’s always made LEGO Star Wars so much fun to watch. We are so thankful to have such great partners in the LEGO Group, Disney XD, and series developers Bill Motz and Bob Roth.”

LEGO Star Wars: The Freemaker Adventures is a production of Wil Film, the LEGO Group, and Lucasfilm. Developed for television by Bill Motz and Bob Roth (Penguins of Madagascar), they join Torsten Jacobson (LEGO Star Wars: Droid Tales) and Jill Wilfert (The LEGO Movie) as executive producers alongside producers Carrie Beck (Star Wars Rebels), Jason Cosler (LEGO Marvel Super Heroes: Avengers Reassembled!), Jake Blais, and John McCormack.

Rumor: 'Star Wars Rebels' Season Two Episode Names & Descriptions Revealed

By: Benjamin Hart

Anticipation is building quickly for the second season of Star Wars Rebels as we grow close to the premiere on October 14th! We have know for a while now that the first episode of this new season is titled "The Lost Commanders" and will deal with the Ghost crew seeking out and enlisting the help of Captain Rex and his fellow Clone Troopers. The following episodes have been more of a mystery, but some new information has surfaced that sheds light on them. The Disney XD TV listings were recently updated on Zap2It to include two upcoming episodes of Rebels, which show titles, air dates and short plot descriptions. They are:

Relics of the Old Republic - Airing October 21st
"Ezra and the crew begin to develop friendships with Captain Rex and his colleagues."

Always Two There Are - Airing October 28th
"Ezra, Sabine, Zeb and Chopper travel to an abandoned medical station."

Additionally, Jedi-Bibliothek appears to have gotten their hands on some extended plot synopses for both episodes. While they are a bit difficult to read due to being automatically translated from German to English, they still might give us a few more interesting story details. Potential SPOILERS may also be included:

Relics of the Old Republic
"While Ezra and slowly close the other friendship with the old clone troopers, Kanan may simply take no confidence. But when the Empire finds out that the clones with the rebels in cahoots, all must work together suddenly."

Always Two There Are
"Looking for inventories for the fleet dare Ezra, Sabine, Zeb and Chopper a mission to an abandoned Medi Station. But when two of Darth Vader sent inquisitors Sabine and Ezra put at risk, Zeb and Chopper have come up with something in order to save her friends."

Also thanks to Jedi-Bibliothek we have titles and descriptions for two more episodes, ones we presume will follow the aforementioned ones. Again, the translation is difficult to understand, and two tites are provided for each episode, so take this as you will:

The Brotherhood (Brothers of the Broken Horn)
"To escape the pressures of responsibility as a rebel and Jedi, Ezra makes on with Chopper to a rescue mission, after having received a distress signal. Surprised, he notes that the ship belongs in need Hondo Ohnaka. This suggests Ezra, to join him."

A Master of his Art (Wings of the Master)
"Since the rebels need a new ship to arrive at an Imperial blockade, Hera embarks on a dangerous mission to meet an eccentric marine engineer, and win its trust. But that will be enough to get him a ship?"

While these do appear to match what we've previously seen and heard, we can't be sure of their validity until they're officially confirmed by Lucasfilm or Disney. If they do turn out to be true, we certainly have an exciting season ahead of us!
