Lucasfilm announced today the latest big preview panel coming to Star Wars Celebration, Lucasfilm's official fan convention, taking place next month in Chicago.  Today on The Star Wars Show, it was revealed that The Mandalorian, the upcoming Disney+ live action series, would be the subject of a panel on Sunday April 14th on the Celebration Stage.  The panel will feature series writer and executive producer Jon Favreau and executive producer and episodic director Dave Filoni, and will give fans our first real look at the upcoming series.

Production began on The Mandalorian back in October, with shooting taking place in southern California.  The series is set following the events of Return of the Jedi and follows the adventures of a "lone gunfighter", played by Game of Thrones star Pedro Pascal, as he navigates the galaxy in the post-Empire/early days of the New Republic.  The series also stars Gina Carano (Deadpool), Nick Nolte (Affliction), Carl Weathers (Predator), Werner Herzog (Grizzly Man), Giancarlo Esposito (Breaking Bad), Emily Swallow (Supernatural), and Omid Abtahi (American Gods).

The first season, which will be available when Disney+ launches in the Fall, is expected to consist of eight episodes. The episodes are written by executive producer Jon Favreau and directed by Dave Filoni (Star Wars: The Clone Wars), Taika Waititi (Thor: Ragnarok), Bryce Dallas Howard, Deborah Chow (Better Call Saul), and Rick Famuyiwa (Dope).  The series is executive produced by Favreau and Filoni, as well as Colin Wilson and Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy.

Star Wars Celebration Chicago takes place at McCormick Place in Chicago, Illinois from April 11th-15th.  Tickets for Monday are available here.  ReedPop also recently announced that they have partnered with Lyte for fans who want to exchange their tickets.  Details about the exchange program can be found here.

Other previously announced panels include the big Episode IX preview, 20th anniversary of The Phantom Menace look back, a preview of Vader Immortal, a behind the scenes look at Galaxy's Edge, and panels for the Star Wars animated series: The Clone Wars, Rebels, and Resistance.  Hopefully we'll see the full schedule soon.
