Last month director and co-writer J.J. Abrams announced that filming for Star Wars: Episode IX had ended, and with it came many emotions. Episode IX marks the end of the Sequel Trilogy(and the end of the Skywalker saga apparently) and none were perhaps more emotional about the ceasing of filming than those who worked on all three films. Among the cast members who have completed their final(?) Star Wars film is Oscar Isaac, who played daring pilot Poe Dameron in The Force Awakens, The Last Jedi, and now Episode IX.
Oscar recently appeared on the The Tonight Show and spoke with host Jimmy Fallon about various topics, including Star Wars. The actor spoke specifically about his last day of filming and how he was inadvertently upstaged by Anthony Daniels, the legendary actor behind C-3PO:
"It was such a milestone, and what was particularly special is the day that I finished - these are three massive movies that, for me, have been such a huge part of my life - right after it was like, 'Okay, Oscar's done' and then I said a few words. And it's also Anthony Daniels' last day on set, you know, what a way to take the thunder. This guy, he's been there from the very beginning. Originally George Lucas saw the whole thing as a story about C-3PO and R2-D2, these droids that kinda witness all this history... [Anthony] was super emotional about it, hanging up the golden cowl... He kept saying this was the most fun he had, because he had so many fun things to do, and we got to work a lot together. It was just amazing to see that piece of history close."

In addition, Oscar Isaac also made an appearance on SiriusXM's Tell Me Everything with John Fugelsang who inquired about Carrie Fisher, specifically drawing attention Leia and Poe's relationship in The Last Jedi. Oscar confirms that it will continue in Episode IX:
JF: You know, you're going to be...I know you just wrapped on [Star Wars: Episode] IX. You're going to be getting the Carrie Fisher questions all over the place. But when you saw [Star Wars: Episode] VIII, were you surprised at how your relationship with Carrie Fisher was such an emotional centerpiece of the film?
Oscar Isaac: I wasn't surprised because I remember we were doing that...we worked a lot and her and I worked together so much, too, and we would talk about the scenes, and we would...you know, we got very tight during the shooting of that. So it was a beautiful thing to see and it gets carried over into the new film.
JF: I look forward to having you here next year when we can talk about it because I can only imagine having to work with her, with the scenes they're inserting, would be emotional for you on a whole other level.
Oscar Isaac: Yeah, no it is. It was definitely an unusual thing but I also think it was right to engage with her character, and not just let it be something that fades away but can really give it its proper, you know, place of honor.

While promoting his newest film Triple Frontier Oscar has been doing a ton of interviews, and it's been exciting to hear him discuss Star Wars whenever possible! It won't be long until we get to see him on stage at Star Wars Celebration Chicago(yes, he'll be there!) discussing Episode IX in detail.

Grant, Naomi Ackie, Dominic Monaghan, Anthony Daniels, Joonas Suotamo, Billie Lourd, and Carrie Fisher. The film is directed by J.J. Abrams, with a script by Abrams and Chris Terio. Star Wars: Episode IX hits theaters on December 20th!
