SPOILER ALERT: Read on only if you've seen episode 1.20 "No Escape: Part 1" of Star Wars Resistance.

The hit animated series Star Wars Resistance reached its emotional peak with its most recent episode, and simultaneously added another layer of drama to Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

No Escape: Part 1, the first of the two part season one finale, aired last Sunday and was a highly anticipated episode among fans. For a while now we've know that Resistance's timeline will eventually intersect with that of the Sequel Trilogy. Adding to the anxiety was the revelation that the homeworld of the series' main character, Kazuda Xiono(voiced by Christopher Sean), is none other than Hosnian Prime, the planet that that is completely decimated by Starkiller Base in The Force Awakens.

This led to a pivotal moment in No Escape: Part 1, where we see General Hux(played by Domhnall Gleeson) give his infamous speech via hologram, and from the point of view of Kaz and Torra. The entire speech, the firing of Starkiller Base, and the destruction of the Hosnian system were all meticulously recreated in the animation style of Star Wars Resistance.

To further illustrate how well both scenes interface with each other, Read Star Wars on Twitter synced up the footage side-by-side in one video. You can watch their fan edit below:

It's truly astounding and unprecedented to see both live-action and animated Star Wars stories connecting in this way! The team behind Star Wars Resistance should be commended for adding even more more emotion to an already poignant scene from The Force Awakens. And kudos to Read Star Wars for this brilliant edit.

No Escape: Part 2, the final episode of season one of Star Wars Resistance, airs this Sunday, March 17th, at 10:00pm ET/PT on Disney Channel.
