Star Wars Celebration is making its triumphant return next year! Lucasfilm announced today that their official fan convention, known as Star Wars Celebration, will take place in Chicago, Illinois next April 11th-15th at the McCormick Place convention center. The announcement was made during this week's episode of The Star Wars Show by hosts Andi Guttierrez and Anthony Carboni. No guests or panels have been announced (though you can bet there will be a Episode IX preview). Tickets go on sale on June 5th at 12pm CST on the official Celebration website.
Next year is the twentieth anniversary of the first Star Wars Celebration, which took place in 1999 in Denver, Colorado to celebrate the release of The Phantom Menace. Since then there have been eleven Celebrations in locations such Orlando, Indianapolis, Los Angeles, London, and Tokyo. Celebration took 2018 off, with the last Celebration having taken place in 2017 to promote the release of The Last Jedi as well as celebrate the 40th anniversary of Star Wars.
More details about Star Wars Celebration 2019 will be released over the next twelve months!
