Del Rey Books announced today that fans can expect to see the official novelization of Solo: A Star Wars Story (in theaters now) on book store shelves this September 4th. They also announced that book will be written by Mur Lafferty (Playing for Keeps, Six Wakes). Lafferty has previously contributed to the Star Wars galaxy in the form of the short story "Not for Nothing" about the cantina band Figrin D'an and the Modal Nodes from the anthology book From A Certain Point of View.
The Solo novelization is continuing the trend that The Last Jedi novelization started of being released several months after the film. Previously the novelizations have been released closer to the films theatrical releases. The original and prequel novelizations were released before the films, while The Force Awakens and Rogue One adaptations were released as e-books the same day as the film and as hardcovers shortly thereafter.
