The original six Star Wars films not only set many standards storytelling wise, but in filmmaking as well. From the aesthetics and special effects, to the way shots are composed, and even down to the transitions between shots, George Lucas established an  visual style to his films.

Now, with saga now over 40 years old, the creators behind the newest Star Wars films are continuing the traditions set forth by the Maker himself. Recently on Twitter, Rian Johnson, director of Star Wars: Episode VIII - The Last Jedi, began discussing the number of transition wipes that are present in the Star Wars films. The wipes, which are used to separate many scenes in the saga, have been heavily used in all Star Wars feature films.

The series of tweets ultimately leads to Rian revealing exactly how many wipes are in The Last Jedi, and how it ranks with the other films. You can read his tweets below:

So there you have it! While it's a minute detail, I know many fans appreciate these little bits of info, as do I. It will be interesting to see what this means for The Last Jedi and how the film might play. All will be revealed when it hits theaters on December 15th!
