The canon reference title Star Wars: On the Front Lines, written by Daniel Wallace, has been published today.
The book, comprised of 128 pages, was originally slated for release in the fall of 2016 by publishing company becker&mayer.
However the book was yet to be completed by Wallace and it was decided to postpone the book's publication until the summer of 2017.
The reference book chronicles the tactics, weapons and armor used in pivotal battles across different timelines in the Star Wars galaxy. It focuses on elements of the battles that occurred "off screen".
The publisher has said the collection brings the struggles faced by ground soldiers and starfighter pilots to life and places the reader on the battle lines.
