On This Day: May 9, 1979

The 63rd issue in the Marvel Star Wars UK comic series was published on this day back in 1979.

The story is an offshoot of another Star Wars comic series which was set to be released in the United States a month later named Star Wars 27: Return of the Hunter.

The story centers around a bounty hunter named Beilert Valance who has come to the world of Feriae Junction as he tracks down a young Luke Skywalker.

Valance is forced to live as a cyborg and has an irrational loathing of all droids and hunts them down wherever he can find them.

Luke, accompanied by new companion C-3PO, travels on a blockade runner and is mapping out the perimeter of the Galactic Empire's most recent blockade.Will C-3PO be protected from the bounty hunter's wrath against droids?

This comic issue includes the third of three parts of an original Star Wars story which was printed in the United States as Star Wars 27: Return of the Hunter.
