A new animated TV series, Lego Star Wars: The Yoda Chronicles, debuted on Cartoon Network on this day back in 2013.

The Yoda Chronicles is a comedic and satirical series which features appearances from iconic Legends characters mixed with new characters and outlandish storylines.

The first episode of the brand new series which premiered on May 29 was entitled The Phantom Clone.

The episode is about a sinister plot concocted by Darth Sidious and Count Dooku as they attempt to bring the Republic to its knees by creating Sith Clones.

Concurrently Yoda is training younglings but has to put C-3PO in charge of them as he sets out to rescue Master Obi-Wan with Mace Windu and R2-D2.

The Phantom Clone was the first episode in a seven-part animated series, with each episode running for 22 minutes, and the hit animated TV show included an eleven-part "Mini-Movie" web TV series released alongside the seven episodes.

The series debuted on Cartoon Network on May 29, 2013 before switching to the Disney Channel on May 29. 2014.

The show concluded on November 23, 2014 with the seventh episode named Clash of the Skywalkers
