By Ciaran Duggan,

Lucasfilm Animation Ltd. was founded in San Francisco, California, on this day in 2003.

LLC is an animation studio which was launched by George Lucas fourteen years ago and its first major production was the feature film Star Wars: The Clone Wars and its spin off 3D animated TV series.

Outgoing Star Wars: Rebels executive producer Dave Filoni, who was known for his heavy contributions on Star Wars: The Clone Wars, was promoted to manage the development of all future Lucasfilm Animation projects back in September 2016.

The industry specialises in animation and computer-generated imagery and this technology has been used initially in Clone Wars and later in Star Wars: Rebels, when Disney became the parent company of Lucasfilm in 2012.

Last month Lucasfilm and Disney co-announced the launch of a new YouTube TV series named Forces of Destiny, which is set to tell stories of the heroines of Star Wars namely Rey, Princess Leia and Hera.

What new TV series would you like to see Lucasfilm and Disney create? Let us know in the comments below.
