In an interview with The Last Jedi director, Rian Johnson, EW has uncovered the name of one of the planets seen in the teaser trailer.

The question of the name of the planet the skimmers in the trailer was revealed: it's called Crait.

"It's way out there. It's very remote. It's uncharted," Johnson said in the interview. "It's a mineral planet and there are mines on it." Johnson also said the planet was home to an old Rebel Alliance base and is now being re-purposed.

This does not appear to be a passing location or brief stop on this new adventure. Johnson said this planet with a salt covering (not snow like Hoth) and ruby-like minerals beneath is going to include a crucial point where the Resistance has to "deal with a pressing and imminent threat."

Star Wars: The Last Jedi releases December 15.
