Star Wars fans looking for an opportunity to celebrate the life of Carrie Fisher, who passed away last month, during Star Wars Celebration Orlando need to check out Drowning in Moonlight: a Memorial Gala in honor of Carrie Fisher. Drowning in moonlight is a charity event benefiting The Midnight Mission (one of Carrie's favourite charities) taking place on Thursday April 13th at the Rosen Centre Hotel. The event is black tie optional, cosplay encouraged.
The event is organized by the good folks over at Tosche Station and our friend (and SWU contributor) Tyler Westhause of the Star Wars Podcast Alliance Facebook Group. It will feature a special live podcast gathering of several prominent Star Wars podcasters, door prizes, music and dancing, exclusive merchandise, and Carrie-themed drinks (both alcoholic and non-alcoholic). Attendees will also be invited to sign a special guest book, paying their respects to Carrie, which will be forwarded to Carrie's family.
Money raised from the event will Benefit the Midnight Mission, which has been offering services to people in need for over 100 years. You can find out more about The Midnight Mission by watching the video below and/or visiting their website: www.midnightmission.org
Drowning in Moonlight promises to be a fun way for fans to spend the first evening of Celebration, pay tribute to our lost icon, and support a great cause. Get your tickets here.
