Lucasfilm announced today that Woody Harrelson (True Detective, Zombieland) has been cast in the upcoming untitled young Han Solo film. Harrelson joins a cast which already includes Alden Ehrenreich as Han Solo, Donald Glover as Lando, and Emilia Clarke in an unknown role. The film is slated to hit theaters in 2018 and is directed by Phil Lord and Chris Miller.
“We couldn’t be more excited to work with an artist with as much depth and range as Wood. His ability to find both humor and pathos, often in the same role, is truly unique. He is also very good at ping pong.”
Harrelson's casting was first reported two weeks ago by Variety. His role is reportedly that of a mentor to the young Han.
