Gareth Edwards Talks About Bringing Back That Character for 'Rogue One'

ROGUE ONE SPOILER ALERT!

One of the most surprising aspects of Rogue One was the return of two iconic characters from the original trilogy, one played by an actor who's dead and the other played by actor who is now 40 years older.  While Leia only had one scene, Tarkin was present throughout the film.  Tarkin's role in the film was far larger than anyone expected and was a groundbreaking accomplishment by the visual effects crew on the film.  But it was one that made director Gareth Edwards nervous when the idea was first approached.


Tarkin was portrayed on set by actor Guy Henri.  Henri's appearance was then changed using CGI to make him appear like the late-Peter Cushing.  Edwards spoke with IGN about the process,  Check out the video below,
