Oscar Isaac, who played Poe Dameron in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, is currently out promoting his next film X-Men: Apocalypse, in which he plays the titular mutant Apocalypse. While speaking with Entertainment Tonight about X-Men, Isaac dropped a little info on Star Wars Episode VIII, which he is currently filming.
When asked about his role in Episode VIII, Isaac said "Well, I'm around, first of all, which is nice," referencing the fact that Poe was originally going to die early in The Force Awakens, though director JJ Abrams and co-writer Laawrence Kasdan reworked the script to keep the character around.
He also spoke about the larger role Poe would have in the sequel saying, "Poe, he gets to be more a part of the story, and all of the characters in the film, they get tested, intensely. It's a lot of conflict in it, which is great."
Star Wars Episode VIII hits theaters on December 15th, 2017.
