Over the past few months we've been hearing lots of rumors about filming on Star Wars Episode VIII taking place in Ireland and seen lots of sets being built on location. It appears filming is finally about to begin on those sets as several members of the Star Wars cast were spotted arriving in Ireland Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker), Daisy Ridley (Rey), Adam Driver (Kylo Ren), and director Rian Johnson were photographed leaving the Belfast airport. One location in particular will reportedly be closed to the public from May 15th-17th. Check out the pictures below,
It's surprising to see Driver headed out to the locations. It's long been rumored that a lot of the filming in Ireland is meant to double for Skellig Michael (the island of the coast of Ireland where the final scene of The Force Awakens was shot), so having Ridley and Hamill be there makes sense. But what could Kylo Ren be doing there? That's assuming all the locations are for the same planet. The production crew could easily have another location they're heading to where they will be filming scenes on another planet that involve Luke, Rey, and Kylo. All this is, of course, speculation.
