Miles Teller Discusses Auditioning For The Young Han Solo Role

The Han Solo Anthology film may still be a few years away from hitting theaters, but that hasn't stopped directors Chris Miller and Phil Lord from beginning their search for the actor who will play a younger Han. At one point it was reported that literally thousands of actors had tried out for the part, and many big names were included in the long list of possible choices. One of those names was Miles Teller. While most of the casting rumors have gone unconfirmed, Teller recently went on record to make it certain that he did indeed audition for the part.

Teller was a guest on the happysadconfused podcast and spoke about auditioning for the role, among other topics. Here's what he had to say, courtesy of /Film:

"I had never even seen any of the original Star Wars movies until maybe a month or a couple weeks before my first audition because I was like, ‘I should check this out’ [Laughs]. It holds up. I just love Harrison Ford. I think that’s a great character. I love his brand, I mean so many guys would’ve played that part so wrong and he has humor at the right times. Harrison Ford is a very big actor, when you see the facial expressions and the things he does he goes big, but he’s just always the coolest guy in the room and he’s got all of those great qualities."

More recent reports have revealed that Miles Teller and many others are no longer being considered for the role and the powers that be have focused on Alden Ehrenreich, Jack Reynor, and Taron Egerton. Teller's willingness to discuss his audition openly probably confirms the rumors that he's no longer a contender.

The young Han Solo Anthology film is scheduled for release on May 25, 2018!
