Harrison Ford On A Han Solo Return: "Anything's Possible In Space"

Everyone's favorite scruffy looking Nerf herder, Harrison Ford, has been out and about recently doing interviews to promote the upcoming release of Star Wars: The Force Awakens on Digital HD on April 1st and Blu-ray & DVD on April 5th. Now that the spoiler ban has been officially lifted Ford has been openly discussing his character's heartbreaking death in the film. In an interview with the BBC Harrison discussed The Force Awakens and his infamous desire to have Solo killed off:

"I wanted Han Solo to sacrifice himself for the good of the other characters to bring some gravitas to the story... I was very pleased to have the opportunity to work with the other characters, to work on a script that I had real confidence in, with actors that were a dream to work with, with a director that had a very sure and generous hand, and it was altogether a pleasure."

And when asked if he had an emotional attachment to any of his characters, Ford replied:

"No. I hope I bring an emotional understanding of the characters and something the audience will recognise, I want the audience to experience the character, not to feel that they know him but to be involved in seeing what happens to him."

He was also asked about the possibility of Han returning in the future and if he would be involved, to which he responded:

"Anything's possible in space, and in the movies."

He also briefly talked about the recently announced fifth Indiana Jones film and returning to work with director Stephen Spielberg. You can watch the full interview by clicking here.

Of course we know the young Han Solo Anthology film is coming in 2018, which will see a new actor fill the smuggler's shoes, but its nice to hear that Harrison might be might willing to return to the character if need be. It sounds crazy to think Han could return after his very definitive fate, but the possibility of visions, flashbacks or even prequel stories could warrant Harrison coming back to play Han again. It's a long shot, but as he says, anything is possible.

He's gotta come back in flashbacks at least. I feel jipped not seeing him and Luke on screen together one last time.

I grew up with Star Wars and Han Solo was my hero. I've recently thought about how if Luke could survive his fall into the disposal shoot in Bespin, it could make for an interesting Han theory.

Hear me out.

Mind you, I know Han just took a saber through the gut, but let's just say, for the sake of argument he wasn't killed entirely from the wound (It's possible it missed any vital organs and cauterized the wound instantly). Far fetched but possible (correct me if I'm wrong). Now let's take it a step further, let's say he, like Luke ends up in a disposal or garbage chute. Let's also say, by chance, that said chute he falls into happens to lead to the same disposal unit he just tossed good ol' Captain Phasma into. (See where I'm going here?) She recognizes him for who he is in relation to Kylo Ren and decides to drag him along with her (for leverage, perhaps knowing he could be used against the resistance?) She finds a ship, throws him in a bacta tank or under the watchful eye of a surgical/medical droid and flies off to fight another day with the most bad ass scruffy looking nerf herder this side of Coruscant.

So, what do you think?

Spirit Han, just like Yoda, obi, and Skywalker, I know Han wasn't a jedi, but the force was always with him, I see that as the only way it would work without ruining the story they've started.

If Snoke Is Plagious & Plagious can keep those around him from death then maybe Snoke keeps Han alive to further Kylo's training.
Maybe that's what Snoke meant by finishing his training.

Hm interesting theories but snoke could be plaigious or a clone of sidious as for han solo if you read the books han solo was once a imperial soldier right around the time of they were making clones now if he had cloned himself the character would age naturally and be as old as han solo before the first han solo had been killed by Kylo Ryn, the moment Kylo Ryn kills off Han Solo the clone is activated with all the memories including being stabbed through the chest by his son

You forget the clones actually aged faster, so that theory would be a little thin. I think Harrison is just playing with our heads if you ever watched some of the interviews on late night tv he never seemed to reall care that much about it, it's like a joke that only he knows the punch line but time will tell
