Another The Force Awakens cast member will be returning for Star Wars Episode VIII.  Billie Lourd, who played Lieutenant Connix in the Resistance Base scenes in The Force Awakens, confirmed to Slashfilm that she would be appearing in the Rian Johnson directer Episode VIII.  Lourd spoke at the red carpet for her show Scream Queens at Paleyfest, where she stated, "Yes, I can’t say much about it but yes."

She also confirmed that her role would be bigger than it was in The Force Awakens, saying, "Oh yeah, yeah. The last one was a little Where’s Waldo-y."  She also teased the potential of having scenes with her mother, Carrie Fisher who plays General Leia in the films.
