Forest Whitaker Talks 'Rogue One: A Star Wars Story'

One of the stars of this December's Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, Forest Whitaker, spoke about his role in the first Star Wars: Anthology film during an appearance on Today.  Whitaker was promoting his role in the upcoming Broadway play Hughie, and of course the topic of Star Wars came up.  After correcting some misconceptions about the film from the hosts, Whitaker described the film as being edgier than previous Star Wars films and confirmed he had finished filming his scenes for it.  Check out the video below,

Obviously, the film is still very much under wraps right now.  So much so, that the Today hosts didn't even know the title (Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, not Star Wars: Rogues) or director!  It will be interesting to see how Disney combats this as the promotion ramps up closer to the film's December 16th release.

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story tells the story of the group of Rebels who stole the plans to the first Death Star.  It's directed by Gareth Edwards (not JJ Abrams) and stars Forest Whitaker, Felicity Jones, and Donnie Yen.
