'The Force Awakens' Breaks Christmas Day Box Office Record

Star Wars: The Force Awakens continues to smash records at the box office, the latest of which is the Christmas Day record.  The previous record for highest Box Office gross on Christmas was $24.6 million set by Sherlock Holmes in 2009.  The Force Awakens breezed past that, grossing $49.3 million on December 25th.  The film continues to be number one at the box office, beating out new releases Daddy's Home, Joy, and Concussion

As of Christmas Day, The Force Awakens had grossed $890.3 million worldwide.
