The Star Wars Land was announced back at D23 in August. The new
park will be an "in-universe" experience, meaning that every aspect of
the theme park will be done as if it were a real planet in the Star Wars galaxy. No word yet on when the parks will open, but construction is expected to being in 2016.
Star Wars has a long history with the Rose Bowl parade. Back in 2007 George Lucas was the Grand Marshal and hundreds of stormtroopers from the fan costuming organization The 501st Legion marching in the parade. There is a fantastic documentary about the fans who marched in the parade on the Saga Blu-ray box set that came out in 2011.
