The fad today of having a post-credits scene in major blockbuster movies may be extending to the galaxy far, far, away. Schmoes Know is reporting that Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens will feature some sort of post-credits tease for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, which will be released in December 16th, 2016.
This was first rumored back in May of this year. I have mixed feelings about this. On the one hand this is a great way to promote Rogue One, which seems to be lacking in awareness at times. On the other hand, Star Wars has never had post-credits scene. If this is just a teaser shown after the credits for Rogue One, then I like it. However, I wouldn't want to see a scene after the credits that is actually part of The Force Awakens.
I think there's great potential to promote Rogue One with The Force Awakens release, be it a trailer before the movie or a teaser after the credits. I just hope they don't stray to far from the current format of a Star Wars film (A long time ago, opening crawl, iris out, no post credits scene, etc.)
As always this is just a rumor until confirmed or denied by Lucasfilm or Disney.
