Rumor: 'The Force Awakens' to Feature Post Credits Tease for 'Rogue One'

The fad today of having a post-credits scene in major blockbuster movies may be extending to the galaxy far, far, away.  Schmoes Know is reporting that Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens will feature some sort of post-credits tease for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, which will be released in December 16th, 2016.

This was first rumored back in May of this year.  I have mixed feelings about this.  On the one hand this is a great way to promote Rogue One, which seems to be lacking in awareness at times.  On the other hand, Star Wars has never had post-credits scene.  If this is just a teaser shown after the credits for Rogue One, then I like it.  However, I wouldn't want to see a scene after the credits that is actually part of The Force Awakens.

I think there's great potential to promote Rogue One with The Force Awakens release, be it a trailer before the movie or a teaser after the credits.  I just hope they don't stray to far from the current format of a Star Wars film (A long time ago, opening crawl, iris out, no post credits scene, etc.)

As always this is just a rumor until confirmed or denied by Lucasfilm or Disney.

I like the idea of a post credits teaser trailer just as a fun Easter-egg, but I hope we never see jokey or plot-relevant full scenes after the credits. Dont try to make Star Wars TOO much like marvel

Yeah, I'm with you, if, once the movie is over, they put something that basically equates to a teaser trailer without the green preview screen for a non-numbered film, then I'll be stoked to get extra Star Wars out of my Star Wars movie, but I'd definitely not like to see the Marvel post-credits scene idea (which works great for their movies, don't get me wrong) forced into the Star Wars franchise...

Just give me a trailer! We don't need anything after the end credits of The Force Awakens! These are the kinda things that scare me with Disney taking over!

I don't believe anything schmoes knows says

I'd rather see a trailer/teaser than a post-credits sting. I hope this isn't true...but it won't stop me from seeing the movie if it is!

Star Wars is about to release its seventh chapter known as The Force Awakens. A new young character has been introduced John Boyega who is a stromtrooper. He also has worn a brown jacket in the movie in some scenes. Visit my blog for further details. Click here.
