Even though we're more than seventeen months away from from it's release, production for the first Anthology film Rogue One is in full swing and details about it are beginning to leak. Disney Casting is now reporting that a casting call for Rogue One has appeared and includes some interesting details about the film. Here's what they had to say:
"Genre Films and Lucasfilm are getting ready to begin shooting in August, 2015 on Walt Disney Pictures’ first film in a new series of stand-alone movies in the Star Wars saga. The first film is titled “Star Wars: Rogue One”. The film’s casting director is setting up auditions for lead and supporting roles, many of which will be young male and female adults to play X-Wing pilots of the Rogue Squadron. Shooting will take place at the Pinewood Studios near London, and other various locations in the UK. There will also be some additional shooting in Mexico."
They state here that filming will begin next month, which contradicts an earlier report which claimed shooting has already begun. Something else that's new here is that filming will reportedly be taking place in Mexico. It will be interesting to see what planets could be represented by the diverse landscapes of the country. Of course this information is second hand, so we have to take the finer details with a grain of salt until officially confirmed.
