Marvel's 'Star Wars #7' To Feature Obi-Wan Flashback Story

If you've been paying attention to Star Wars Comics recently, you know that Marvel has been doing a particularly excellent job exploring the time period following A New Hope with it's "Star Wars" series. All the issues thus far have focused on the adventures of Luke, Han, Leia and Chewie immediately after the destruction of the Death Star, but Issue #7 will be shaking things up with a flashback story centered on a self-exiled Jedi Master prior to Episode IV.

The last issue saw Luke journey back to his home planet of Tatooine and retrieve "The Journals of Ben Kenobi" from his deceased mentor's home. Now in Issue #7 those stories will come to life in a flashback story that takes us back to Obi-Wan's time in exile on Tatooine as he watched over young Luke Skywalker. The story will reportedly involve Obi-Wan wrestling with his desires to fight the swarms of thieves, thugs and gangs that have swept over Tatooine while simultaneously keeping his true identity, and his overall mission a secret.

Our friends at Following The Nerd have reveal a preview from the upcoming comic which features four pages from the book, as well as four variant covers along with the standard cover art. You can check it all out above and below:

Star Wars #7 is written by Jason Aaron with artwork by guest artist Simone Bianchi. Pick it up online or in a comic book shop near you on July 8th!
