From Hasbro to The Force Awakens, a great deal of Star Wars goodness has already been revealed at San Diego Comic Con, but it's not over yet. Marvel has got in on the action by revealing two brand new upcoming Star Wars comic series this week. The first one, announced at Marvel's Friday panel, is "Star Wars: Chewbacca." As the title implies, the beloved Wookiee will be getting his own solo storyline in this new comic. The story will reportedly see Chewie stranded on an unfamiliar world after crash-landing there during a mission. ComicBook.com reports that Chewie's "loyalties will be divided when he has to chose between getting back to the Alliance, and helping a young girl in need." The series will also feature a “a very interesting visual language” without captions or word balloons showing what Chewie is saying or thinking. The series is written by Gerry Duggan with artwork by Phil Noto. You can see the first issue's cover and a variant cover below:

Next up, one that was just announced at Marvel's "Cup O' Joe" panel, is "Vader Down." This mini-series is a crossover event between Marvel's currently ongoing series Star Wars and Darth Vader and will feature six issues, kicking off with an oversized first issue. The story will show Darth Vader literally down behind enemy lines, on his own against the entire Rebel army. StarWars.com revealed a list of "six reason to be very excited about Marvel's Vader Down." It features interviews with writers Jason Aaron and Kieron Gillen who spoke about their collaboration on the project, how the story fits within both the existing comic series, and also revealed the beloved Droid duo R2-D2 and C-3PO and the newly introduced BT-1 and 0-0-0 from the Darth Vader series will come face to face in Vader Down. Be sure to head over to StarWars.com to read more about it. And check out the cover art below:
