It seems we may finally have confirmation of some classic Star Wars characters that will be appearing The Force Awakens, as well as a brand new one. This morning the guys over at Star Wars 7 News have unveiled a set of photos from the film which seemingly give us our first looks at these characters in The Force Awakens. Of course, if you're sensitive to spoilers, this is your official SPOILER WARNING:

If you're still with me, then prepare to get excited! No, this isn't a trap! The first image appears to be none other than Admiral Ackbar himself:

And even though Lando has been nowhere to be seen in The Force Awakens thus far, it looks like his trusty co-pilot Nien Nunb from Return Of The Jedi will be making an appearance:

And as for the new character, last week we told you about some details that Greg Grunberg had leaked about his character. Now we have a photo of that character who appears to be an X-Wing pilot, wearing similar attire to Oscar Isacc's Poe Dameron:

Star Wars 7 News adds that sources have informed them that Grunberg's character is named Gorwyn, and since he's reportedly signed for three films, they speculate that he will be the Wedge Antilles of the Sequel Trilogy, so to speak. They also claim that Grunberg's previous statement about being in the Millennium Falcon's cockpit for a great deal of time was misinterpreted, and we was talking about a cockpit in general and not necessarily the Falcon. As for Ackbar and Nien Nunb, there names have actually come up before in various rumors, so it's not a huge surprise to know they're returning, but seeing them here is a delight.

And for the record, we have to take into consideration that the photos of Ackbar and Nunb could be faked. The shot of Grunberg obviously is not, so it adds credibility to the entire set.

We can't wait to see these three and all the rest of the characters, old and new, on the big screen on December 18th when Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens opens in theaters!
