One of the most hotly debated aspects of The Force Awakens is the potential connections between returning Original Trilogy cast members and the brand new characters. Rey and Finn appear to have the focus of the film, and both are currently without last names, which spurs the conversation even further. Lucasfilm is keeping their heritage intentionally ambiguous, but it seems one of the actors may have let a big hint slip recently. Of course, if you're avoiding spoilers at all cost, I recommend you stop reading now. This is your official SPOILER WARNING!

If you're still with me, here we go! Our friends at Making Star Wars are reporting that Daisy Ridley recently let it slip as to what Rey's parentage could be. In a clip courtesy of The Star Wars Report Podcast, Ridley spoke at a recent event in Japan and had this to say:
"I’m not sure how much I can say. I guess because I’ve said that I’m solitary, and that’s how I begin, that is probably a big clue as to what… (Kathleen Kennedy nervously chuckles) … it is."
She seems to be hinting that "solitary" means Solo, and thus her parents could be Han and Leia. Most have come to assume this based on most of the rumors we've heard, and just by looking at her it's not hard to imagine that Rey is a Solo. Some have suggested that the on set code name for the character, "Kira", could play into it, and her full name is actually Kira Rey Solo. They also connect this with the possibility that our main villain could similarly be named Kylo Ren Solo, make the two brother and sister. Obvious comparisons can be made between Kylo and Rey and Jacen and Jaina Solo of "Legends". Of course, this is all speculation, so take it with a grain of salt.
At the very latest, we shall learn the truth when Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens hits theaters December 18th, 2015!
