Star Wars Saga to be Screened in China

Fans in China are in for a treat!  The Hollywood Reporter broke the story today that the entire Star Wars saga will be screened at the Shanghai Film Festival which runs June 13-21.  This will be the first timed the Original Trilogy will ever be screened in China.  The screenings are part of Lucasfilm/Disney's attempt to reach the Chinese market in time for the release of Star Wars: Episode VII The Force Awakens.

I think it's great that Lucasfilm and Disney are trying to reach more foreign markets with Star Wars.  With more Star Wars content than ever before coming out over the next five years, we can expect to see the fanbase growing rapidly all over the globe.  Hopefully Lucasfilm and Disney will continue this outreach over the next few months and beyond, both in China and in other untapped markets.
