May the 4th, aka Star Wars Day (May the 4th be with you - get it?), is just around the corner and naturally people are wondering if we'll be seeing or hearing anything new about the upcoming film, Star Wars: Episode VII The Force Awakens. It seems there is at the very least some news incoming over the next few days. Yahoo Japan is reporting that Lucasfilm president and The Force Awakens producer Kathleen Kennedy and Daisy Ridley, who plays Rey in the film, will be holding a press conference in Tokyo on April 30th. While this is a few days before the "holiday" it could be the kick off for some reveal. No word on when during the day the conference will be held, but seeing as it is already 9:00am in Tokyo, news could drop at any moment.
As for what the announcement might be, well I'm not holding my breath for much. We just got a new trailer less than two weeks ago at Star Wars Celebration in Anaheim, California. At most, I think we could get some sort of teaser poster (that's more than just the logo). I expect, however, that we will most likely just see Ridley and Kennedy discussing how exciting the movie is, reiterating some stuff from Celebration, and perhaps telling a behind the scenes story or two (like how Ridley got the part or something along those lines).
Hopefully this is just the first of these sorts of press conferences we will be seeing around the world in the coming months as the Lucasfilm and Disney promotional machine really get going as we race towards the films release on December 18th, 2015.
