I lived the Star Wars mania from the start. I will never forget is immense starship flying over my head, rattling the theater with his 8-track stereo sound. Now, almost 40 years later, it seems incredible live again. It's really exciting to see their original characters. Thanks God for the magic of movies!
Simply unreal I so cannot wait to see it! But what got me is when Luke said my father HAS it. Now to me it makes me think that they may bring Darth Vader back in some capacity but seeing Han and Chewie again brought a tear to my eyes.
Goosebumps, tears, and a lasting ear-to-ear smile...that's my overall impression in a nutshell...
As for some points of interest: 1) I think Luke says his father "has" it because Anakin still exists in the Force, ie. as a Force ghost as seen at the end of RotJ, so he's still actively using the Force, he does indeed still "have" it 2) I really find it interesting that the hooded figure I believe we're meant to at least assume is Luke has a robotic prosthetic hand instead of the human-like replacement he had after ESB 3) I really like the change of emblem for the Empire/First Order, it really brings home the fact that this isn't just a long, drawn-out continuation of the galactic civil war we saw in the original trilogy, it's a different, or at least much evolved conflict...in that same vein, I'm insanely curious about the hierarchy of this so-called First Order...my guess is the character that's just being called "the General" is the one front and center below the big, red First Order banner that you see way off in the distance in that shot with all the stormtroopers, so is he the head honcho, or is he more of a Tarkin-esque figure...and where do Captain Phasma and Kylo Ren fit in...anyway, I'm rambling, the teaser's awesome, I'm just gonna go watch it again...
