Rumor: 2016 Stand Alone Film to be About Boba Fett's Family

After hearing earlier today that Felicity Jones had emerged as the front runner for the female lead in the 2016 Gareth Edwards direct Star Wars Stand Alone Film we may be getting a hint about the film is about.  The Wrap is reporting that the script for the film, currently being rewritten by Chris Weitz, features the family of Boba Fett.

According to The Wrap,
Chris Weitz is rewriting Gary Whitta’s screenplay, which is rumored to involved Boba Fett’s family. The script also features a male lead that Aaron Paul is being eyed for.

This is an interesting rumor as, initially, it doesn't to line up with anything else we've heard.  However, upon closer analysis, I could see this playing into previous rumors.  Perhaps it was Boba Fett's family that helped the rebellion steal the Death Star plans.  And perhaps that simply bizarre Sabine rumor could be chalked up to a miscommunication somewhere along the line where "female mandalorian" became "that character from Rebels".  I'm not saying I necessarily like either of those possibilities, but it could be an explanation for the variety of rumors.

As always this is just a rumor until confirmed or denied by Lucasfilm or Disney.

The first stand alone film is slated for a December 16th, 2016 release date and is directed by Gareth Edwards and written by Chris Weitz and Gary Whitta.
