While everyone is still hyped about the Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens teaser, the folks behind the scenes at Disney and Lucasfilm are getting ready for the next Star Wars film. MakingStarWars.net is reporting that a production office for the 2016 Stand Alone film directed by Gareth Edwards and written by Gary Whitta will be opening in Pinewood Studios in early 2015. Production on the film is expected to be begin as soon as James Bond: Spectre wraps, which should be around spring 2015, with the production office opening a few months before hand.
With principal photography on The Force Awakens done, its strange to think that the next Star Wars movie is about to go into production. But such is the world we live in now, where Disney is planing on releasing a new film every year for the foreseeable future. And it's great! There are still many questions about the new film, which we revealed is code named Los Alamos. Beyond the director, writer, release date, and cinematographer, nothing is officially known about the film. Hopefully the next thing to be revealed is the title (or some kind of working title), along with the cast.
As always this is just a rumor until confirmed or denied by Lucasfilm or Disney
