The trailer is done. Word is coming out of LA that John Williams has recorded music for the 60 second teaser trailer for Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens. The team over at MakingStarWars.net is hearing that Williams was recording the music at the Sony scoring stage, for the sixty second trailer that will be, " just a little over a minute long, showing off new characters from the film and culminating with the return of the Falcon to the big screen!" As for if we can expect the hear new music, Jason Ward from MSW believes, "Most likely you will not be hearing a new leitmotif, you’ll have to wait until The Force Awakens is near release to hear that." It sounds like Williams was recording a new medley of classic Star Wars themes that will be on display in the new film.
As for when the trailer will be released, it seems The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies or Into the Woods are the front runners. Some may still be holding out hope it will show up with The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1, but that seems to be too soon. There's also the possibility that Lucasfilm/Disney could follow in the footsteps of Avengers: Age of Ultron and try to release it with an episode of Star Wars Rebels (and hope Hydra doesn't get their hands on it), and then put it out online. Only time will tell.
