Even before he was officially confirmed as part of the cast, rumors have been swirling that Adam Driver will be playing the villain in Star Wars Episode VII. Our friends over at Jedi News may have just uncovered a slight twist in all that. The Jedi News team is hearing that Driver will not only be playing the villain, but he will also be playing Han and Leia's son! According to their source,
He will be playing the son of Han and Leia, and it seems he will be seduced to the Dark Side, and a main plot point for the movie will be their attempt to rescue him.
While this might be an interesting twist, I have a hard time believing it. The turn-to-the-dark-side story has already been done in the films, and the Han-and-Leia's-son-turns-to-the-dark-side was already a major plot point in the Expanded Legends Universe. Rehashing that story seems a little too obvious, and I would rather see them go in a different direction.
As always this is just a rumor until confirmed or denied by Lucasfilm or Disney.
