The original Wookiee is back! The Hollywood Reporter is now reporting, via inside sources, that Peter Mayhew, who has portrayed Chewbacca thus far in the Star Wars Saga, will return as our favorite walking carpet in Star Wars Episode VII! Speculation heated up recently after Peter canceled a convention appearance due to filming. This may confirm that the "filming" is indeed for Episode VII. Peter will once again appear alongside the only confirmed cast member, R2-D2, as well as some "Very familiar faces" and a trio of new, young leads in Star Wars Episode VII, which hits theaters December 18th, 2015.
Even though this all may seem official and set in stone, nothing is truly confirmed until Lucasfilm or Disney says so. Take this with a grain of salt.
