In what has become an annual tradition for StarWars.com, the 'This is Madness 2014' Star Wars character popularity tournament was announced this week. In a shocking move, Ahsoka Tano, a round of 16 qualifier last year, was placed in a play-in round against fellow Jedi Mace Windu, Qui-Gon Jinn, and Kit Fisto, in order to even make the top 32.
While any of those Jedi are certainly deserving to make the top 32, Ahsoka Tano is the one that needs and deserves your vote!
In fact, you might say, if you loved Star Wars: The Clone Wars you owe it to yourself to vote for Ahsoka and all future Clone Wars characters. Why? Because Lucasfilm is givng us another opportunity to show we care!
Now, I'm not delusional enough to think that even if Ahsoka wins the entire tournament Disney will bring back The Clone Wars. That
is, sadly, not going to happen (at least not for a very long time). Ending The Clone Wars was one of the biggest mistakes ever made in Star Wars history, and it is important to ensure similar mistakes are not made again. Support for Ahsoka shows just how important the show was to the fans and serves as a reminder to those in power of their mistake. This would help to ensure they always think twice about cancelling something so beloved by so many before its time.
We also know that there were still many stories left to be told. Supervising Director Dave Filoni teased us to what many of those stories might be in a recent blog post, including some drawings of Ahsoka meeting with former Death Watch lieutenant Bo Katan and having to speak with the Jedi Council again. Look me in the eye and tell me you don't want to see that story! A win, or at least some success, for a Clone Wars character would go a long way to showing the powers that be that there is an audience for these stories and encourage them to tell those stories in another medium (ie, comic series, novel, or perhaps even a Netflix miniseries), or even pick them up in Rebels.

Success for Ahsoka would also serve as great thanks to the creators of The Clone Wars
who, created six incredible seasons of television. Ahsoka was the
focal point of that, so symbolically success for Ahsoka is success for The Clone Wars. The Clone Wars is at a high right now, with the swing of positivity about "The Lost Missions", with thanks just pouring in to the creators for their incredible work. Success in 'This is Madness' would be the icing on the cake.
For six years The Clone Wars, led by Ahsoka, kept Star Wars alive. Not just on our screens, but in the mind of creator George Lucas. The amount of time Lucas spent thinking about the Star Wars universe while working on The Clone Wars is likely what inspired him to begin working on the sequel trilogy. So you might say, Ahsoka is directly responsible for Episode VII! If that's not a good enough reason to vote for her, I don't know what is.
