Our friends at The Star Wars Geeks Unite Podcast are reporting that Disney announced a Star Wars Rebels TV film in their annual shareholder letter.
The following is an excerpt from the Fiscal Year 2013 Annual Financial Report And Shareholder Letter from Disney:
"While the world eagerly awaits Episode VII to open in theaters, we’re introducing Star Wars Rebels to television audiences this summer with a movie and a series of shorts on Disney Channel, followed by a continuing series on Disney XD."
This news comes a week after a rumor surfaced that the series would be introduced with summer vignettes and an hour long special in October.
It looks like that rumor was nearly correct. We are now awaiting a public announcement from Disney concerning the vignettes and film.
I really hope they bring back characters from the clone wars!!
ReplyDeleteDoubtful most of them are dead and wouldn't fit the more Original Trilogy vibe of the show. Besides I think fresh, new and exciting characters are the way forward.
