One of the few actors who have actually confirmed that they auditioned for a part in Episode VII and gave a few specific details about that part, Saoirse Ronan has confirmed she will not be in Episode VII. Ronan spoke with The Playlist and confirmed that she had not been cast in the film. According to The Playlist she was "sounding kind of defeated" when she told them, "I don't have 'Star Wars.' I don't have the role. I just shouldn't have said anything. I just auditioned for it, like everyone else did."
So we can scratch her name of the list of potential actors in the film. It sounds as though talking about her audition may have hurt Ronan's chances. We know how secretive both Lucasfilm and director JJ Abrams can be, so it's not that surprising that they wouldn't want an actor working on the film who can't keep their mouth shut (let that be a lesson to anyone attending the upcoming open casting calls in the UK).
